Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance carriers and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service rendering
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid/denied claims
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient data confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and insurance representatives
- Generate regular reports on billing metrics and revenue cycle performance
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD-10) and billing software (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement methodologies
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
