Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures across diverse patient demographics
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail and HIPAA compliance
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control protocols in all procedures
- Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Document patient information and specimen data using electronic health record systems
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely specimen processing and result delivery
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and procedure protocols
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and pediatric collections
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume healthcare environments
- Basic computer literacy with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Valid CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
