Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection adhering to CLIA/HIPAA standards
- Process and transport blood specimens with 100% accuracy and traceability
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain quality control documentation
- Provide patient education on procedures and address anxiety with empathy
- Collaborate with lab teams to ensure timely test result delivery
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and patient data management
Qualifications
- Active Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary, and microcollection techniques
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and specimen handling
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environments
- High school diploma or equivalent required
