Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures with precision
- Process and label specimens following CLIA and OSHA compliance protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and inventory management systems
- Provide exceptional patient care with focus on comfort and anxiety reduction
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless specimen transport and testing
- Adhere to strict infection control and safety standards
Qualifications
- Current New York State Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Exceptional venipuncture skills with minimal discomfort to patients
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems and specimen processing protocols
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
