Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict aseptic techniques
- Process and label specimens accurately with electronic documentation
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment in compliance with OSHA standards
- Provide patient education on procedures and ensure comfort during collections
- Coordinate with laboratory staff for sample processing and testing priorities
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Participate in quality control initiatives and continuous improvement programs
Qualifications
- Current NJ Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
