Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive symptom assessments for patients via phone, secure video, or chat to determine appropriate medical triage.
- Evaluate patient history, current symptoms, and vital signs to recommend the appropriate level of care or direct them to emergency services.
- Facilitate referrals to primary care physicians, specialists, and urgent care facilities as needed.
- Document all patient interactions, triage decisions, and follow-up plans accurately and securely within the EMR system.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for complex cases.
- Stay updated on clinical protocols, local health guidelines, and new treatment protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in triage, emergency medicine, or a primary care setting.
- Certification in TEC (Triage Emergency Care) or TEC-C is strongly preferred.
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and clarity.
