Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile surgical fields and equipment for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical instrument inventory and sterilization processes
- Monitor patient vital signs and document procedural details
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless perioperative care
- Adhere to OSHA and JCAHO safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
