Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with precise instrument passing and wound management
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including robotic systems
- Manage inventory and sterilization of instruments per AORN standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Expertise in general surgery, orthopedics, and specialty procedures
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA regulations
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Current BLS/CPR certification
