Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone and in-person patient assessments using standardized triage protocols
- Accurately prioritize patient cases based on acuity and clinical urgency
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients and families while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient communications in EMR systems
- Monitor patient flow and adjust resources to optimize department efficiency
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active California RN license with unrestricted privileges
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or triage experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- BSN degree preferred
