Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic protocols throughout surgical cases
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Inventory and sterilize surgical equipment following OSHA guidelines
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesia teams to ensure procedural efficiency
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technologist program graduate (CST preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in sterile processing and instrument handling
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and on-call rotations
- North Carolina Surgical Tech license (or eligible)
