Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients to operating rooms and position them for procedures
- Manage surgical supplies inventory and sterilization processes
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Document procedure details and equipment usage in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in general surgery
- Graduate from accredited surgical technology program
- BLS certification with current CPR credentials
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and OSHA regulations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Experience with electronic health record systems preferred
