Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments to determine urgency and prioritize care in high-volume emergency department
- Accurately document patient symptoms, medical histories, and vital signs using EMR systems
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and nursing staff to coordinate patient flow
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients and families during stressful situations
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance protocols and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and staff training programs
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois with minimum 2 years ER or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC or ENPC preferred
- Proficient in triage protocols and emergency assessment techniques
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Experience with Epic EMR systems
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
