Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone triage to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Provide expert medical advice to patients experiencing acute or chronic health concerns
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care pathways
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation in compliance with HIPAA
- Manage high-volume call queues while maintaining exceptional service standards
- Implement emergency protocols for critical situations requiring immediate intervention
- Educate patients on home care instructions and preventive health measures
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Colorado (or compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proven expertise in telephone triage protocols and clinical judgment
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems or similar electronic documentation platforms
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during critical situations
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
