Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories to determine urgency of care
- Provide accurate medical advice via phone triage for non-emergency cases
- Coordinate with physicians and specialists to prioritize critical cases
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Educate patients on care pathways and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless patient flow
- Monitor emergency department capacity and adjust protocols as needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (TX RN)
- Minimum 3 years ER/urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong triage assessment skills (ESI or equivalent)
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
- Proficient in Epic EHR systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- BSN degree preferred
