Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments and prioritize cases based on medical urgency
- Utilize EHR systems to document patient interactions and clinical decisions
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding home care or emergency protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to ensure optimal patient flow
- Maintain accurate triage documentation and compliance with JCAHO standards
- Train and mentor new nursing staff on triage procedures
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency room or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic or EHR documentation systems
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- BSN degree preferred (ADN with experience considered)
