Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health or behavior to the nursing staff.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
- Companionship: Engage clients in social activities, conversation, and recreational programs to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as required by the care plan.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments and run errands as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required; completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program is highly preferred.
- Certification: Current Louisiana Home Health Aide (HHA) certification and CPR/First Aid certification are required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health, personal care, or geriatric care is a strong plus.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions are essential.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; good physical stamina is necessary.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this position.
