Responsibilities
- Review patient charts and insurance policies to ensure accurate coding and billing.
- Submit and follow up on medical claims with insurance payers (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Manage patient accounts receivable, including collections and financial counseling.
- Analyze denied claims and submit appeals to recover revenue.
- Utilize EHR/Electronic Medical Records systems to maintain up-to-date patient information.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Certification as a CPC, COC, or CRC preferred.
- Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Experience with revenue cycle management software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
