Responsibilities
- Verify and Prepare Medications: Accurately verify prescriptions, prepare medications, and ensure proper labeling according to state and federal regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor medication stock levels, restock pharmacy shelves, and manage the inventory system to prevent shortages.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers, answering questions and providing exceptional service.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines and pharmacy safety protocols to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in the quality control process, including checking for drug interactions and expiration dates.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all pharmaceutical transactions and patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
- Licensure: Valid Oregon State Pharmacy Technician License.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform precise calculations and documentation.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using pharmacy management software and computer systems.
