Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and compound medications according to prescriptions and protocols
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing with precision
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- CPR certification preferred
