Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound specialized preparations
- Verify insurance coverage and process third-party claims efficiently
- Provide exceptional patient consultations on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain strict inventory control and regulatory compliance protocols
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Utilize advanced pharmacy management software for precision dispensing
- Train new technicians on established safety procedures
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years hospital or specialty pharmacy experience
- Expertise in compounding IV medications and sterile preparations
- Advanced knowledge of drug interactions and pharmacology
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and zero-error medication dispensing
- Strong communication skills for patient education
