Responsibilities

  • Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with a high degree of accuracy and minimal discomfort.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations and safety protocols.
  • Prioritize patient comfort and provide clear instructions for pre-test preparation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all blood collections in the laboratory information system (LIS).

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
