Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce strict aseptic protocols
- Manage surgical inventory and ensure equipment functionality
- Document procedures accurately and maintain electronic health records
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience in general surgery or subspecialties
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- BLS/CPR certification and current state licensure
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional hand-eye coordination
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of advanced surgical equipment (robotics, endoscopic systems)
