Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments according to AORN standards
- Assist surgeons with instrument passing and sterile field management during complex procedures
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including robotic systems and endoscopic devices
- Manage surgical inventory and ensure optimal instrument availability for 50+ weekly procedures
- Maintain precise documentation of surgical counts and equipment functionality
- Train and mentor junior technicians on cutting-edge surgical techniques
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless perioperative care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Level I trauma center or specialty surgical services
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular surgical specialties
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EPIC preferred) and surgical tracking systems
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS certification preferred
- Associates degree in Surgical Technology or related healthcare field
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in high-pressure emergency scenarios
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
