Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments, equipment, and instrumentation
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures with precise instrument passing and sponge/needle counts
- Coordinate surgical case flow and ensure optimal operating room efficiency
- Implement aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols per OSHA and AORN standards
- Manage surgical supply inventory and equipment troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate documentation and electronic health records
- Mentor junior surgical techs and participate in process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience in general surgery, orthopedics, or neurosurgery
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Proven expertise in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during high-pressure procedures
- Strong communication skills for seamless collaboration with surgical teams
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field
