In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for our patients, utilizing your clinical expertise to make life-saving decisions and ensure seamless transitions of care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and virtual triage assessments to determine patient acuity and triage levels.
- Apply advanced clinical reasoning to prioritize patient needs and facilitate timely referrals to specialists or the ER.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans.
- Maintain precise documentation in electronic health records (EHR) while ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to families regarding their health status and next steps.
- Monitor and report trends in patient symptoms to improve overall departmental protocols.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in emergency nursing, urgent care, or clinical triage.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree accepted with relevant experience.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred for the Laredo market.
