Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases using established triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care pathways
- Document clinical observations and interventions accurately in EHR systems
- Provide compassionate guidance to patients and families during critical moments
- Monitor vital signs and interpret diagnostic results to determine urgency of care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for emergency department efficiency
- Train and mentor junior nursing staff on triage best practices
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN degree strongly preferred; ADN candidates with relevant experience considered
- Proficiency in Epic EHR and electronic documentation systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly advantageous
- Proven track record in high-acuity patient management
