Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Make critical decisions on patient prioritization in high-pressure ER settings
- Collaborate with physicians to develop precise care pathways
- Utilize Epic EHR systems for accurate documentation and communication
- Maintain compliance with TJC and CMS standards
- Train junior staff on triage protocols and patient safety protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (TX RN)
- Minimum 3 years ER/trauma experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN degree (MSN preferred)
- Experience with ESI 5-level triage system
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency highly valued
- Proven track record in high-volume emergency departments
