What You'll Do:
Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications. Ensure the accuracy of all orders and provide exceptional service to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Receive, verify, and process prescription orders from physicians and other healthcare providers with precision.
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications, including counting, measuring, and labeling.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients to answer questions about medications, refill requests, and insurance inquiries.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmacy inventory, and place orders with suppliers as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, state pharmacy laws, and company policies.
- Documentation: Ensure all prescription records and patient information are up-to-date and accurately documented in the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is highly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately and detect errors in medication dosing.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
