Location: Henderson, NV (Full-time, On-site)
Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide competent assistance during surgical procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and first assistants.
- Sterile Field Maintenance: Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, ensuring proper sterilization techniques and monitoring the sterile field throughout the surgery.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and skin prep, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Instrument Management: Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure zero loss and safety compliance.
- Documentation: Accurately label and organize surgical specimens, and maintain accurate records of procedures and supplies used.
- Cleanliness: Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room after each procedure to ensure readiness for the next patient.
Qualifications
- Certification: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CST certification required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are mandatory.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
