Responsibilities
- Provide personalized assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs per care plan protocols
- Transport clients to medical appointments and community activities using agency vehicles
- Document care activities accurately in electronic health records and maintain client confidentiality
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks and ensure safe, hygienic living environments
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental wellbeing and social engagement
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate client services and address changing needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year professional home health aide or caregiving experience
- Current CPR/First Aid certification and DC Health Care Worker Registration
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks including bending and standing for extended periods
- Proficiency in English with clear communication skills; bilingual Spanish speakers preferred
- Passionate commitment to elderly care with strong interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
