Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and assist with light medication administration as directed by the nurse.
- Vital Monitoring: Monitor and report changes in the client's physical condition, such as pulse, respiration, and temperature, to the supervising nurse.
- Nutritional Support: Prepare nutritious meals and assist clients with meal planning and feeding if necessary.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation and recreational activities to reduce social isolation.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping, as authorized by the client and care plan.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and social outings.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Texas Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is a plus but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Driver's License: Valid Texas driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required.
- Background: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Personality: Compassionate, patient, and reliable with excellent communication skills.
