Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Personal Hygiene: Maintain patient dignity by assisting with toileting, incontinence care, and oral hygiene.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient conditions or concerns to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) regarding patient care activities and shifts.
- Environment: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized at all times.
- Meal Assistance: Assist patients with meal planning, preparation, and feeding as needed.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Florida CNA license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care, home health, or hospital setting is preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays as required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy and empathy.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients safely (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Professionalism: Adherence to HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding patient privacy and care standards.
