Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and professional manner.
- Mobility Support: Help clients move safely in and out of bed, wheelchair, or assistive devices, ensuring fall prevention.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any side effects or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious and appetizing meals tailored to the client's dietary restrictions and health needs.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and social activities to promote mental well-being and reduce loneliness.
- Clinical Reporting: Accurately document daily care activities and any changes in the client's condition in the electronic health record system.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Certification: Current California Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health or long-term care is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Background: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
