Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor patient health status and report any changes, concerns, or emergencies to the registered nurse immediately.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and changing linens to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with mobility exercises as directed by the care plan.
- Accompany patients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social outings, providing transportation support.
- Offer emotional support, companionship, and active listening to patients and their families.
- Document daily care activities and observations accurately in the electronic health record system.
Qualifications
- Current Maryland State Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation required.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Previous experience in home health or long-term care is preferred but not mandatory.
