Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, accompany them to medical appointments, and provide emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light cleaning tasks, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as required.
- Transportation Support: Drive clients to doctor's appointments, grocery stores, and social events.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Texas Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license is preferred but not required for applicants with equivalent experience.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and families.
- Driver's License: Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation are required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods throughout the day.
- Compassion: A genuine desire to help others and a patient, caring personality.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
