Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitoring: Observe and report changes in a patient’s physical or mental condition to the supervising Registered Nurse.
- Medication Assistance: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at scheduled times.
- Household Support: Prepare nutritious meals, assist with light housekeeping, and maintain a clean, safe living environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation to alleviate feelings of isolation.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments or social outings as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CNA or Home Health Aide certification preferred.
- Certifications: Current state certification and valid CPR/First Aid certification are required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home care or a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; must be physically able to assist with transfers.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental demeanor.
- Driving: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (required for client transport).
