Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and track surgical supplies, sutures, and equipment before and after procedures
- Transport patients to operating rooms and position them safely for surgery
- Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies in surgical suites
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Document procedural information accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary - we train!
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Must pass background check and drug screening
