Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and observe their condition, reporting any changes to the nursing supervisor immediately.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the specific dietary needs and restrictions of each client.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and conversation to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness for seniors and patients.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning duties such as laundry, vacuuming, and tidying up the client's living space to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Transportation: Drive clients to and from medical appointments, social activities, or grocery shopping as needed.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record client's temperature, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by the RN or LPN.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Home Health Aide, CNA, or Personal Care Assistant is highly desirable.
- Certification: Current Texas Home Health Aide certification and CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Driver's License: Valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record are mandatory for transportation duties.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, families, and medical staff.
- Compassion: Genuine patience, empathy, and a sincere desire to help those in need.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods and assist clients with mobility issues.
