Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Reminders: Prompt clients to take prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals based on specific dietary requirements.
- Companionship: Engage patients in conversation and activities to promote mental well-being.
- Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning and laundry duties essential to the patient's environment.
- Transportation: Drive clients to and from medical appointments and errands.
- Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in a client's physical or mental condition to the nursing supervisor.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid New York State Home Health Aide (HHA) certificate or CNA license required.
- Medical Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid certification.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods; ability to assist with transfers (up to 50 lbs).
- Reliability: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Empathy: A genuine, caring attitude towards elderly and disabled individuals.
