Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes in a patient's condition to the nursing supervisor immediately.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with light housekeeping and laundry.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients to improve their quality of life.
- Accompany patients to medical appointments, physical therapy sessions, and social activities.
- Administer medications as prescribed and track intake accurately.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Virginia State Home Health Aide certification.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation.
- Previous experience in home care or a related healthcare field is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and infection control protocols.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
