As a Home Health Aide, you will provide essential personal care and companionship to clients in the comfort of their own homes.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any side effects or missed doses to the nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and dishwashing to maintain a safe environment.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
- Observation: Monitor client health and report any changes in condition or behavior to the supervising nurse immediately.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. CNA or HHA certification preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health or personal care is highly desirable.
- Licensure: Valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance required for travel to clients' homes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: A genuine desire to help others and maintain a positive, empathetic attitude.
- Reliability: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
