Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with light housekeeping and laundry to maintain a safe living environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and depression.
- Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and assist with transportation as needed.
- Assist with transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, or automobiles.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification valid in New York State.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid New York State Driverβs License and reliable personal vehicle.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
