Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications at scheduled times and report any adverse reactions or missed doses to the supervisor immediately.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals according to dietary restrictions and client preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment by performing light cleaning, laundry, and errands.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in social activities, conversations, and hobbies to prevent loneliness.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as required by the care plan.
- Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with patients, family members, and the nursing staff to update on the patient's condition.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current California Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health, hospice, or long-term care is preferred but not always required for top candidates.
- Valid License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check, drug screen, and TB test.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for helping others and the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods while assisting patients.
