Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Monitoring: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and assist with medication management under the direction of a nurse.
- Companionship: Offer emotional support and engage in conversation and social activities to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties, including meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning to ensure a safe living environment.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition to the nursing supervisor.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social outings.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: Prior experience as a Home Health Aide, CNA, PCA, or personal caregiver is preferred.
- Licensure: Valid California Driver’s License and current auto insurance are required.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods and assist clients with mobility.
