Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide compassionate support with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at the scheduled times and report any concerns to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and social activities to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Mobility Support: Assist clients with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids safely and comfortably.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients, including meal preparation and light laundry duties.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record client health status, including weight and blood pressure, as directed by the care plan.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with clients, their families, and the nursing staff regarding daily progress and any changes in condition.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pennsylvania Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or in a similar caregiving role is preferred but not mandatory.
- CNA: Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a warm, patient demeanor.
- Reliability: Must be dependable, punctual, and able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods as required by the job.
- Driving: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for client travel.
