Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene to ensure dignity and comfort.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any side effects or missed doses to the nursing staff.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions and personal preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning tasks such as laundry, changing linens, and vacuuming to maintain a safe living environment.
- Companionship: Engage in social activities and conversation to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record temperature, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by the supervisor.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments or social outings as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a Home Health Aide or CNA training program is preferred.
- Certification: Current state certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a plus.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and patience when working with the elderly or disabled population.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
