Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatments and procedures including sterilizing instruments and setting up trays
- Assist dentists during examinations, fillings, extractions, and other dental procedures
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) and maintain accurate patient records
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilization of dental equipment
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order necessary materials
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Assist with front desk duties including scheduling, billing, and patient communication
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (RDA or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Certification in dental radiography and CPR
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and dental sterilization protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Valid California state dental assisting license
