Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Maintain precise patient records and medication profiles in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with third-party insurance processing and billing documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service and patient education on medication usage
- Operate pharmacy software systems and automated dispensing equipment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or institutional pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and medication safety protocols
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS/1, Rx30)
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid CPR certification preferred
