Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare, label, and organize blood specimens for laboratory analysis accurately.
- Educate patients on the phlebotomy process to ensure comfort and reduce anxiety.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
- Manage inventory of supplies and ensure the phlebotomy area remains clean and sterile.
- Collaborate with nursing and lab staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Certified Phlebotomy Assistant (CPA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
