Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Ensure patient comfort by explaining procedures clearly and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
- Label, log, and process blood samples accurately according to laboratory protocols and safety regulations.
- Maintain a sterile work environment and adhere to strict infection control and safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, doctors, and laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen processing.
- Manage inventory of supplies and notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy program or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or ASCP certification is highly preferred.
- Strong dexterity and manual fine motor skills required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate weights.
- Current CPR certification is a plus.
